I know how hard it is to put your body on display in public spaces. As fat people we've all been traumatized by the phrase "get your summer bikini body". The body positive movement has pushed back with the phrase "every body is a bikini body". While I believe that phrase now, it wasn't always the case. Unpacking the lies about beauty that we've internalized is a difficult process and the progress is not linear but it is so so worth it! Here are some of my tips on how I overcame my body shaming fears and am now able to rock a 2 piece swimsuit with my beautiful belly hanging out!
